what to paint over powder coat

Hi, I have a question about powder coating. I want to paint another color over a powder coated frame, but im worried about a chemical reaction. Can I use automotive base clear ? Thanks guys

If you want to be super sure, shoot it with an epoxy primer. Always works. Transtar makes a good inexpensive one in black and white. You must paint over it sooner or later because it will fade over time on its own. You can also do body work right over top of it.

Primer helps but if you scuff good and prep clean, you can base coat clear coat over....Prep is the important part

Off topic a bit, but what type of paint to you buy for powder coating? A friend of mine is going to do a vise for me but I have to buy the paint.

You don't buy paint, you buy powder. Powder coating is a completely different process, and unless you're set up for it, you can't do it.
