What to put under Racedeck

Hi, first post. I'm planning to cover my garage floor with Racedeck soon, and I've read a number of posts talking about the floor being noisy. My floor is unfinished concrete right now. What would be an effective material to apply before laying the Racedeck? One thing I thought of is roofing paper. Any suggestions?

Use a synthetic landscaping cloth that you can buy at one of the home improvement stores. It won't mildew when it gets wet and it breaths.

Thanks Shea. I assume you're referring to the cloth they lay down under mulch or rock to keep weeds from coming up.

I used that synthetic weed blocker from Home Depot, was about $50 for my whole floor. I would definitely recommend this. It looks better by giving it a uniform black background (for the FreeFlows) and it also deadens any clacking, as I've never heard my clack once, when other people have said they have heard it. Worth it for sure!

I used landscape felt from Lowes, but put down two layers, which cut down on the hollow sound considerably. I wash my car in the garage, so I left that area without any underlayment.

Where are you located? I personally wouldn't put anything under a floor in a northern climate. My freeflow is not noisy at all. I suspect the level of noise generated by these floors depends on the slope of your floor sections. Just my guess though...
