What to use for final floor cleaning - before coating

Cleaned one grease spot
Diamond grinded floor - no dust control (huge mess)
Leaf blower, swept, repeat.
Repaired cracks with rustoleum 2 part crack filler
Ground cracks flush with cup wheel.
Leaf blower, swept, repeat. Things are fairly clean.
Shop vac with bag & fine dust filter, several times, then mopped floor.

I've seen denatured alcohol recommended. Can't get that in Canada. Is there a alternative solution for a final wipe that will leave no residue? Methyl hydrate?

I'm using the solvent rustoleum epoxy, 2 coats. Then 1 coat of the solvent clear.

Muratic acid.... 2 gallons of water then add 1/2 a gallon of Muratic acid...

Isn't that for etching? I don't want to have to rinse the floor, just wipe it and leave no residue.

I already profiled the concrete by mechanical grinding.

I used TSP for my final cleaning and one last time with the pressure washer. The main thing is to get all the dust up, you should be able to wipe your hand across the floor without picking anything up. If you can do that you are ready to coat.

Even if you grind it you still need to neutralize it..

Any slower drying solvent. Dampen a towel and wipe.

Try using some IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) on your rag or Mineral Spirits.

You DO NOT need to neutralize your floor after a mechanical grind. Only if you etch with Hydrochloric acid.

We have had clients just power wash to get rid of dust if there is any residual dust. Getting rid of 100% of the dust on concrete after grinding is very difficult. A good epoxy system can usually tolerate some minor residual dust.

To our knowledge we have never had a failure due to residual dust.

take a slightly moist towel and wipe good a spot on the floor and see if any dust ends up on the towel. this will give you an idea if there's any residual dust.

And..I was also told by your staff, that use of the primer, also substantially mitigates many of the issues brought up in this thread.
