My garage is 16x36 and the rafters are 24" on centre. I was hoping to use 7/16" OSB as a ceiling and screwing UP to the rafters without using strapping. Is this okay? I read on the Home Depot site that 7/16" OSB is supported by 24" centres.

I just completed my ceiling using corragated plastic roof panels from home depot. 2x12 sheets. Easy to install direct to rafters 24 inches apart.

+1 on the #2 metal bright white ceiling. Looks great and really clean. Brightens up the shop too.

White metal liner panels. Screw it down......actually you screw it up!......and your done. Already painted.....done. Plenty of light reflection. No paper on the seams, no patching, no sanding, no primer, no paint.......done. Love it.

Ditto on the steel ceiling. I used white pole building siding. 16' long by 36" wide (3" overlap) from Menards. used 1" white hex head screws. Very, very happy with it. Bright white, reflects light.

I used some reclaimed aluminum roofing sheets that were 4x12. They went up pretty fast, even though I did 99% of it by myself.

Thanks for the tips. I've decided to use the OSB 7/16" and screw it directly up to the 24" OC rafters. Then add batt insulation to the top..
