I have a situation. My garage floor was stained with beige stain when the house was new about 14 years ago. I want to do the floor over. Will any of the epoxy go over this stain?...As far as I know they never sealed the floor, just used a stain, because water does not bead on the floor...Or, should I stain the floor beige again and just seal it?...Any help, most appreciated...:headscrat

If water is soaking in and not beading up you should be ok to put a sealer on the floor. But...there really is no 100% way to make sure it will work so we suggest you test a sample in a corner just in case there is a reaction or adhesion issue. We sell small test cans which the fee is fully refundable when you purchase.

Call our office for further info and to order during normal business hours.

Thanks!

Stain is a vague term. Beige stain could very well be a solid color acrylic deck paint and would need to be ground off before using epoxy. We see these "stains" all the time in FL.

Hi there, I went into the garage and checked the floor...I poured some water in different areas and it seems to be beading up...It may in fact be a paint with a sealer?, and not a stain? It's light tan or a light beige in color...What's my best option with this?...Just repaint the floor with a similar product?

I took two photos...One photo the water is still on top never absorbed into floor, and some oil stains as well...The other shot of the floor in a different spot. Is there any way to paint over this without stripping the old paint? Can the floor be acid washed so new paint will absorb?
