Hi, I see in some threads that baking soda is used to neutralize the acid used during the etching process. I was wondering if this is the same baking soda you can buy at like walmart, home depot, and other typical retailers or if some industrial strength version is required.

Sprinkle baking soda until it doesn't fizz anymore. Neutral. Rinse with water to remove the salt, the acid combines with the sodium bicarb to make a salt that might promote corrosion.

I mix 16 oz. baking soda (Arm&Hammer) per 5 gallons of water. Spray on, scrub VERY good, rinse with clear water several times.......

I would also pressure wash after rinsing with baking soda. You will notice if you just rinse floor with a hose it does not get into the open pores of the concrete where baking soda still hides. You will need a good strong pressure washer 3100psi or higher to insure all pores are clean. Take the extra step, well worth it. Just my 2 cents.

Other GJ members have recommended the pressure washer too. It's not a bad idea. However, make sure you give the floor extra time to dry and never use in conjunction with acid stain.
