I have a client that has a slate walkway w/pea gravel joints. They want something that would seal it, slate and joints, so that the gravel doesn't go all over the place. Is there a product that could be applied to that and make it solid? Its in snow country so it will be shoveled and salted. It is 3' wide by 65' long.

Not really anything out there to seal both in to one, or to even keep pea gravel in place.

You could replace it all with a concrete walkway and then "lay" the slate and pea gravel in the walkway as it cures. I have done that and then sealed/painted/colored the whole thing....

Salt should be avoided at all costs, use sand or kitty litter or some such, instead. The salt promotes melting and that melt will refreeze and crack/break things up.

Please report back. I have the same problem with 1/4 mexican beach pebbles between my driveway slabs. I've been told to just spray sealer on them to keep them together better but I don't think that will work at all. At some point, I'm planning to pull them out and lay them in some wet concrete. That's the only solution I've seen work down here.
