Need your help and/or suggestions.
Ready to build my garage, 27' long X 25' wide.
I have to stay clear of my neighbor's fence line by 7 feet (County Law).
There is a chain link fence between our property lines (about 4' tall X 80' long.
There will be lots of equipment back and forth during the build.
What can I place, temporarily, along the fence line to protect his property from any of the back fill I'll be doing in that area?
Looking for something cheap?
I was thinking 8' X 4' X 1/8" plexi-glass sheets, something I can reuse after the job is done...but that could be very expensive.:lol_hitti
Your thoughts?
Thank you,
John

That plexi-glass will be more expensive than the fence you're trying to save!! And you won't re-use it once it's damaged.

I second (third) the vote for OSB, especially if you are going to use OSB for sheathing later on. Buy the same thickness that you will use later on.

not 100% sure if you could get it where you are but snow fence is really popular where I am as it comes in long rolls.

If not, I'd 3'rd (or 4th or 5th) the osb.

I'm using what's called silt fence (heavy canvas lets water thru but not dirt). It's used a lot along ditches and city street drains. 100' long, 2 or 3' tall, and 24" stakes every 8 or 10'. It only costs about $20/roll. And easy to remove when you're done.

Hay bales are good. Particularly if you are expecting rain and silt laden runoff.

Yeah, that's what we've been using if there's room. There's a product, or several, that are rolls about a foot in diameter that come in different lengths that are used for controlling runoff, they're made of straw and netting, check your construction supply (usually construction hardware & tools, like White Cap in CA).
