I work on boats for a living and I want to get a new tool box. I want to get one in the 40-46 inch size. I want to buy just the bottom box right now and I would like a power strip on it. So what do you guys recommend? I don't feel like giving my money to the snap on guy who shows up when ever he wants and takes 3 weeks to get me tools I order.

I see the kobalt 3000 has a power strip and I do like the drawer lay out better then some of the other store brand boxs. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-300...l-Bearing-Steel-Tool-Cabinet-Black/1000332085

you can add a power strip to any box for a few bucks .
I would be looking for something 22 to 24" depth minimum .
International do some quite nice 42" boxes in pro series .
Used truck brand is always my first route .

I called snap on and asked them for their opinion...they recommended the most expensive largest box they make....

Actually the HF boxes are rated very well. I have the 40” version and it has held up very will with a bunch of weight in it

I finally saw an extreme box today. They are actually made real well and the price is good. It will be my next box.

I have a 44" harbor freight with add on side cabinet loaded to the gills. Depth is the only annoyance as its quite shallow, but otherwise its a well made box.

Used snap-on, cornwell, Matco or Mac. I have seen used snapon EPIQ go for quite a bit less than 1/2 price here
