This is for hard line tools (sockets, ratchets, wrenches, etc.).

Out of your tool box, what do the majority of your tools consist of?

Comment if you are a professional or do-it-yourselfer.

Was almost exclusively craftsman USA up until I discovered garage journal. Now I have a KRL722, a KRSC31, and building up my Snap-on tool collection. It will take a long time to replace my common used craftsmans.

ALL mys sockets except my axle nut set are Craftsman. Axle but socket set is Matco. Torx bits and Etorx bits are Snap On. Hex drive are Craftsman. Triple square drive sockets are Mac only because I needed them and the truck was there....otherwise they'd be Snap On too. Wrenches are Craftsman RP's and Professionals. Have one set of Craftsman thin profile ratchets as backups to my Snap On ratchets. Ratcheting wrenches are USA Craftsman's from 2005. Flare nut wrenches are Craftsman Professional (SK made) but I want to upgrade to the offset Snap On ones.

The vast majority of my hardline tools as well as toolboxes are Snap-On, but I appreciate and own other brands too.

Full time tech.

Went with Facom for a lot of my tools, and have been very happy with them thus far.

I've started adding some GearWrench in the past twelve months too, as their Taiwanese tools seem pretty good quality and often 50% off.

Most of my tools are Snap-on, but I like some types of tools from Cornwell, MAC, and Proto too. If I was forced to pick one brand for everything, it would be Snap-on.

I said mostly craftsman (usa) but if that's the truth it's like 51% at a maximum and based on what I consider mechanics tools and what I don't. I'm not a "this isn't a mechanics tool" kind of guy, if it fits I use it.

I'm somewhere in between honestly. More than diy but don't wrench every single day. The thing is, if I own a tool it's pretty much going to get used soon/frequently. I love hammers like all hillbillies but don't use them that much.:wtf:

It's cool, you know. Whatever get's the job done and typically for me that doesn't mean the shiniest most expensive thing I can find it usually means the cheapest thing I can find that ain't gonna snap like a carrot in a bunny farm. Even if I weren't paying for my own stuff I probably wouldn't bother with some of the major brands because I'm an outlaw; I'd probably go sk because in the professional lines I think their price is fair...mail in warranty though doesn't seem like you'd ever need to use it.

All of my Metric sockets and wrenches are Toptul.

For SAE I have Snap-on, Cornwell and Wright.

Most of my Metrics are imported, and most of my SAE are domestic. Its not intentional, but I find it interesting none the less :)

DIY guy here. My box is mostly USA craftsman for the heavy use stuff. But I have some other USA stuff rolling around here and there and some HF stuff for occassional use tools. Jeep and truck tool boxes are pretty much all HF as I don't like keeping the good stuff in there.

I am a serious DIY and do all the maintenance on my own vehicles and house. I have mostly Craftsman USA Professional where they were available. Second place goes to GearWench, then Knipex, Channellock, Pittsburgh Pro (HF) and recently a little bit of Snap-On.

Kind of an eclectic collection I guess.

DIY, no brand loyalty, but I edge toward;

Snapon or HF for ratchets,
Snapon or Craftsman or SK for sockets
Snapon, Gearwrench, or Craftsman for wrenchs.

Most of my tools are Snap-On. Bought them when I was a wrench. Last couple years I discovered Wright tools. Have added a bunch of those. I see Craftsman tools being made in China now, not impressed at all. I have some US made Craftsman, if they break and the store tries to replace it Asian junk I'll walk out the door. Mac tools are trustworthy.
