You will have to use the student program online or contact your local dealer. I got 30-50% off Matco online.

When I was in college we could order through Snap On, Matco, a local supply house that sold a lot of Apex stuff, and a local non franchise tool guy who also sold a lot of SK and Sunex type stuff.

Thanks for the info.

I read in the link posted that you have to be a full time student, is this true? And have to be a mechanic?

Snap on - You have to register with your local "industrial salesman." Once registered, you can buy directly through them or they will give you a password and set up an online account. This can take several days to weeks depending on the represenative and verification by instructor. Items that are discounted are limited to entry level tools, scantools and big ticket items are NOT included.

MATCO is on a honor basis, go to website and register as a student and verify your school and you can access their online student store. Eveything they sell to my knowlege has some kind of discount.

NAPA depends on the area, they have the ability to give student discounts on tools but the individual store owners may not want to participate. They give a discount on everything offered (parts too) it they have a student program.

O'riely will give a discount on tools and parts. They will sell you everything at a 20% or more discount (even recovery machines, lifts,ect..)

Mac will give discounts, but not sure because I do not have a local representative.

I might also mention that many times you can beat the discounts by shoping online or going to the deals forum at this website. Also amazon sells Williams, a division of snap-on (usually the same price as the student discount on blue-point).

Hope this was helpfull

generally for most of the programs, you have to be a student enrolled in a "vocational technical program".

that could be automotive, diesel, auto body, etc

you don't have to be a "mechanic"

All you gotta do is take a city college auto class and you get the discount. You have to maintain a C average or better.

you can get matco at 60 % off on the first student order. I dropped 3000 with the discount and my god i dont know how else i would have afforded tools otherwise. I used a us general box for two years and recently bought a matco double bay off craigs for 1400.
