What tool do I need/use to crimp this connector?

I just got an adaptor for my Motive bleeder. I have the original that came before their quick connect/fittings.

I ordered the kit which is just two pipe fittings and it came with two metal crimps.

I don't even know how to crimp this? Seems like a hose clamp would be fine but figured I'll use what came in the kit since the rest of the pieces of my kit use the same fittings.

Sorry if this is dumb, but I've never seen this crimp fitting before so have no clue on how to actually make it "tight".

First two pictures are what I have. Third picture is what my adaptor looks like crimped from the factory.

Thanks,
-Nigel

It's called a Oetiker tool, should be able to find one at Home Depot in the sprinkler section.

Awesome!

Thank you.

The one picture looked familiar so I looked in my toolbox.. sure enough I have a knipex one. I always thought it was just a wire/zip tie cutter... Since I have tons of side cutters it's always just sat in the tool box never used.

Thanks!

Crimped and looks just like factory now. w00t w00t!!

Oetiker is the maker if quality stepless clamps, there are lower quality ones out there. Until recently Knipex was the supp lier for their end and side crimpers. They just opened a plant in Connecticuit to make them in house. While they never advertised it, there is enough of the end crimper left on the side jaw model to use it for either. A lot of reviewers mention this. I have the new Oetiker side jaw and there is enough on the end.

I believe those are the concretors nippers.
The oetiker pliers are very similar but have blunt jaws so they dont cut into the clamp.
Knipex used to put "Oetiker" on the pliers. I assume they still do.

As I said Otiker now make their own. I got this info in a phone conversation with the Oetiker rep when I called to inquire about whether the side crimper would also end crimp. It can. I have the new Oetiker, US made in Connecticut, crimper. These crimpers are the bottom of their line They make big powered industrial jobs for production line crimping.
