The better cars and bikes had double-leading drums on the front!Reminds me that I am getting old, I thought everyone knew that was a brake spring tool. Used not only on the rear drum brakes but the front ones too. Yes, there where actually drum brakes on the front back in the day!!!
My '69 Bronco had 4 wheel, non-boosted drums, no power steering, and a 3 on the Tree.Reminds me that I am getting old, I thought everyone knew that was a brake spring tool. The WWII-surplus I-H 6-ton I learned to drive stick on had non-boosted, rod-and-ball drum brakes! In other words, nearly no brakes at all on a quarry rock-hauler. Fun times! It also had eighteen gears... mostly straight-cut; no synchros. That's how you learn to drive stick! My '69 Bronco had 4 wheel, non-boosted drums, no power steering, and a 3 on the Tree.
An absolute adventure trying to keep it in line, but the Cherry Bombs kept other drivers at bay...![]()
