What tool "made" you switch from Ryobi to Ridgid?

My first Ryobi tools were the (blue) drill/light combo, been going back and forth on making the switch for some time now. Currently in my "obsessed with tools" phase, and my son "needs" a cordless vac to replace the weak household one. (Had the blue ryobi handheld, but it gave up the ghost about a year ago, tried to fix it but couldn't find a source for the on/off switch).

So just joined team orange via the Inflator/Vac bundle!

The majority of my cordless tools are Ryobi. I have no need to switch.

At my business, we have a Ryobi cordless fogger, from Covid days. Used twice a day for months with no problem. We also have a Ryobi cordless vacuum.

This was it for me. I started buying Ridgid back in 2016 and had to finally use LSA a few months ago for my sawsall that burnt up (I used it, ALOT). They replaced it with a new model ($160 new), free of charge, and cost me $0 in shipping. It did take almost 6 weeks to get the new sawsall, but I think this was more because of their new LSA in-house program that just opened up and working out the bugs.

Only buy Ridgid from Home Depot and Discount Tools Direct. Discount Tools Direct has a few good sales every year, but you have to buy their blemished tools to be able to register for LSA.

Ridgid tool line is still very small compared to Ryobi and Milwaukee so take that into consideration. Discount Tools Direct also has some great deals on Ryobi tools often.

I used it for a metal chop saw and had a great experience. it was my first Ridgid tool purchase and was followed by many more.
