To do the following on a 2008 F-250 4 X 4, with MANUAL hubs, and the 6.4L PSD:

R&R Front and Rear Brake Pads?

R&R Front and Rear Rotors?

Replace Serpentine Belt? Is there a 1/2" square opening in the tensioner to allow a breaker bar to be used, or if not, what size socket does it take?

R&R radiator fan? or replacing water pump or alternator.

I am not worried about the 'normal' tools required (wrenches, sockets), but only the special use tools needed for the above repairs.

TIA

If the 2008 is anything like my 98 a 1/2" BB will work on the tensioner pulley to remove the serpentine. You'll need a clutch fan removal tool (that's what it's called) to remove the fan but you can borrow that from Autozone if you have one close.

Other than that it's all basic hand tools iirc.

Do not use the clutch fan tool, worthless and break real easy because it is too thin.I use an air hammer w/a long bit with a tip gound with a chiseled tip on the end.My method works a lot and much easier to do,be easy when doing this.

My brother Scott broke one,he works at a Harley dealership in the service department.Used it to remove a stubborn axle nut.I get the end of the bit on the end of the flat of the nut and put light pressure on it and hit the trigger of the air hammer. The fan blade spins off real easy.I have never did damage to the nut on the fan clutch yet and this method works for me.

this is exactly what the old guys at my shop taught me. We have run across a few fans that for some reason beyond me has red loctite on the threads and i promise you wont be breaking that free with a fan clutch wrench. i use a gp 3/4" chisel 18" long and it will spin em off in a hurry
