I just can't seem to pass up a good deal on tools when I find one. 95% of those tools were purchased for about 1/3 of the retail prices. Some were bought for 10% of retail. If you are patient and persistent you can find some very good deals out there.

Purchased in the last 6 months. I purchased more but I didn't take pictures of everything. I also got a Snapon metric collet style stud installer/remover set, 8 Snapon deadblow ball peen hammers, PDR3000 3/8" pneumatic drill, 10 screwdrivers, various socket adapters, 2 FL80 ratchets, 2 F80 ratchets, 1 FLF 80 ratchet, 2 TL72 ratchets, 2 PHP2 hose clamping pliers, 2 FZ936A multipurpose ratchet heads, the full set of LP locking pliers made by Gripon for Snapon, and an OTC slide hammer suller set and a small Snapon slide hammer puller set along with a couple Snapon bearing separators. Oh, and a Snapon KRL7022 toolbox. I'm currently waiting shipment on a Koken 3/4" ratchet and 200mm and 400mm 3/4" extensions and a hub kit for a Snapon CrudThug.

Ricleh, how do you find most of that stuff? Ebay, CL, auctions, yard sales, estate sales - do you just happen to know like every tech near you?:headscrat
Please offer some advice as to how I might improve my deal locating ability:)

Thanks:beer: And how much time was spent searching for the stuff posted above? 1hr, 1day, 1 week, 1 year....:lol_hitti:bounce::bowdown:

Most of the tools I buy are from ebay, CL or from someone local who is trying to sell (local to me is within 500 miles). I know several mechanics who have their own shops or work at dealers as well as the local Snapon man. I ask them if they know anyone who is looking to sell tools or boxes. Sometimes they hook me up with someone who is just dumping tools or boxes for next to nothing. It doesn't happen often, but it's great to get those deals anytime. I have most of the tools I need now and I generally am looking for specific "special" tools. Of course when looking for that special tool sometimes I come across a deal I can't pass up even though I really don't need the tool. I am becoming better disciplined in this respect finally. I probably spend about 1 1/2 hrs most days checking tool listings online. Sometimes I can go for months or years looking for something and then I will see several deals in a matter of days. Lately a lot more things I have been looking for have come up for sale. I am sure it is due to the economy. I don't know how it is where you live. I live in Northern California and things here ****. I am lucky and I have a good paying job and have some money in the bank so I can offer people cash for their tools. I probably should sell some of my tools, but I just end up giving them away to friends who I know will make use of them and who otherwise couldn't afford them.
