What torque setting to store drill/driver?

This might be a dumb question because I've never seen it asked before, and I'm guessing the answer is probably that it makes no difference. But I'll ask anyway.

You know how you should back off the tension in your "clicker" torque wrench when storing to help maintain calibration. Does it make any difference in which torque-clutch position you store your cordless drill/drivers? I mean, do any torque settings wear out the "loading mechanism" more than other settings for example.

If you mean cordless battery drill, then it makes no difference how you store it. Or not to me in decades of using them.

I usually use my drills (drill machines )for drilling so they stay in the drill setting. Normally use impact drivers for driving screws. Same scenario.

The clutch should not weaken or change due to setting.

Hand torque wrenches on the other hand....

Yeah that's right. Cordless battery drill/drivers, with a locked "drill" setting plus a whole bunch of other torque settings like they all have now days.

Ok thanks. That's kind of what I thought, seeing as I've never payed any attention to it in the past either, and likewise have never had any problems.

Anyway, I was just packing away a drill yesterday that mightn't be used again for a while, and got to wondering about it.
