I'm in VA too, I see they have a Richmond branch.

Thanks for the tip. i'm going to give them a call and get some more info and a quote.

my only problem is that they don't appear to offer solid colors, broadcast flake blends only?

I want solid white or very light grey.

There is a Premier here too, I'm going to talk to them as well.

If i'm going to have somebody come out and shotblast the floor, I might as well consider having the entire job done professionally.

I'm still waiting for more info from Wolverine though.

later,
chris

UPDATE: I just got off the phone with my local area GarageTek dealer. he says that the floor coating is a new product for them. until now, he has only offered plastic locking tiles. the garage tek coating is a polyaspartic coating which he claims is far better than any epoxy. he said that despite what the website shows, they CAN offer solid colors without flakes. however he won't be offering ANY coating until this fall at the earliest. even then, i'm not sure I'd want to be one of their guinea pigs while they learn how to or how NOT to install this product. just to give me an idea he told me that he thought the coating was going to be priced in the $5-$6 per foot range. WAY too rich for my blood, but he was just guessing, he asked me not to hold him to that number.

Thanks for the update, I too would not want to pay $5-$6 and be one of his first customers either.

If you are in Richmond, why not get TuffSeal :)

I recognize the color names and photos. I would bet they are using Citadel Floors Systems (as I do). It's a good product but it is not for amateurs or even inexperienced floor guys. $5.00 to $6.00 is a fair price if it's done correctly.

See the other thread about solid color floors btw.

oh. no, the tile is not for me. I don't care for it. I understand it has it's uses, but not in my garage.

it may be a fair price, but with the current economy (frankly even if the economy was good) $5000-$6000 is just too much money to spend on a non necessity item like a pretty garage floor. I know alot of people can afford that without blinking an eye, i'm just not one of them.

5-6 $ a foot for a solid polyaspartic floor.... youve got to be kidding me. Polyaspartics are not that expensive... $99-$110 a gallon, and it goes 400 sq Ft per gallon. I charge 2-3 $ a foot for solid floors. The reason people will not offer soid polyaspartic floors is due to difficulty. You can roll a 100% solid epoxy floor, let it self level, and the color will be even. Polys dry so quick that streaking is of concern. I use a slow cure polyaspartic for my solid color floors, works great.

Andy watch out when you start telling people that floors don't need to be 10000 dollars a square foot. half of them jump your ***...

Just out of curiosity andy pm me some details about whos polyaspartic you use.
