With the upcoming shop insulation project I thought it would be a good idea to insulate my attic more. I only have about 5 to 6" of insulation up there.

I was wondering what type of insulation this is. House was built in 1978

Should I airseal as much as possible it has gable vents and vents in the soffit , I know I will have to put the extenders on the soffit vents so it still gets air from there.

Looks like a type of blown-in fiberglass. Do you have a vapor barrier under that insulation?

I’d air seal around and electrical boxes or vent pipes that may be in the ceiling.

No clue. This house was built in 78 and we have only lived here 2 years. It will soon be all covered up. In about a month blowing in another 15" of insulation. That oughta help
