Hey all, I am just now getting ready to insulate my shop. My wife and I bought the house a year ago and the pole barn on the property is about 20 to 25 years old. So instead of building a new one, I decided to finish it. I have the floor done and electric done. The metal siding does not have anything underneath it. I left the over hangs open and put alum screen up to keep the over hangs open so the roof won't sweet and air can move through. I am placing insulation against the bottom of the trusses and along the walls. I am going to put 7/16" osb up over top of that. I was going to use 2" foam, but the price has gone up since I priced it last. I thought about using 1/2" foil faced. would that work just as good since it's has foil, or even a smaller thickness foam board work. What does everyone think. Thanks

Sorry it's so long of a Thread

bay insulation specializes in pole barn poly faced insulation,as you will need an excellent moisture barrier when dealing with metal buildings.osb is a moisture wick given the right conditions.i myself will be using a white poly faced insulation which will also be the finished int. wall.kills two birds with one stone! check out their web site bay insulation.com
