Just wondering if anyone has any good ideas for painting the drywall in my garage. I want it to be durable and easy to wipe off as im planning on using it as a small machine shop and coolant and oil are probably going to splash on it.

Thanks Mike

A good primer will make all the difference. I only use the Kilz Premium and the paint I put over it holds up for a decade or more. Don't have experience with coolant or oil though.

Ditto on the Killz....Killz II to be exact....it's a great primer for bare wood and drywall.
It was rated the highest by CU.

Behr from HD is a top performer for semi-gloss....but if your concerned with oil I would suggest high gloss....

Use a semigloss paint for easier clean-up. A flat paint (like you'd use in your living room) is going to act like a chalkboard when you brush anything against it.

If oil and coolant is going to periodically get splashed on it, then I would go with a high gloss paint. I have my walls painted gloss white and have even hit them with the water hose before and no damage to the drywall.

Thanks everyone for your input,I will go with the Killz II primer and an Exterior Semi-Gloss or Gloss paint to finish.

I would go with a good primer and a water based epoxy. It may be a little overkill but will last for ever.
