What would I be missing if I buy solus over modis?

I have read there is a four channel scope on the modis. But nothing else that makes the modis especially stand out over a solus.

On the other hand, I can get a Picoscope and that would be my scope or, a Vantage pro with its built in connector data base.

right now, looking at all solus pros with the color screen. All Snapon SOLUS are monochrome that you can use rechargeable nicad batteries in them?

The oldest solus pro hand held unit "hard ware wise" is the same as the newest solus pro, only difference is software versions?

Just need advice and opinions. Im not as productive without these scanners/scopes

I do not want a scanner that will scan a car that is still under dealership warentee. So, buy one that is at least three years old?

Thanks a bunch!

Think of a Modis as a Solus mated to a vantage pro scope. I prefer to have two separate platforms. I use a scan tool much more often than a scope but, that's just me. I have a Solus Pro and Vantage Pro at work. They're good tools but, they're still a compromise when compared to factory scan tools.

We have a body shop across the street. Sometimes we get cars to scan that are less than three months old. If you can get a scanner that is three years old, get it really cheap. Most of the older stuff I see for sale is priced so that you're into them the same price as a new one once the update is taken into account.

Other than the scope, ability to run heavy truck software, and optional five gas analyzer, the Modis and Solus/Solus Pro have the same scanner software.
