My Matco guy is hawking a scratch and dent 6S and the asking price is 50% of list. The only dent on it is a small one on a piece of corner trim. I'd push for a discount of at least that much. Good luck.

I don't think a dent is worth a discount... It needs to be a prestige replacement... If I was okay with a dent I would shop for a scratch and dent box or used....the money isn't an issue and buying a box like that you are clearly planning on hanging onto it. You will be sick that the first dent wasn't your fault....

Tell the idiot that he should have inspected it before accepting it from the freight company and you expect one with no damage.

The audacity of him saying it has damage and he's going to delivery it anyway would make my blood boil!!

If he offers a discount tell him you might consider it at dealer cost.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!

You're paying top end prices, you should expect top end service! Not, "Hey, I didn't do my job and inspect it, so please take this POS with minimal complaining" I think it's rediculous to pay those prices for storage in the first place, so I'd be livid if I had to do it AND take it damaged, even at a discount! Ugh.

It would depend on just how bad the ding/dent was, for me. Something huge and instantly noticeable (e.g. were the same level of damage to happen to my car, I'd get it repaired), then, no, I would want a new box).

If it were something that was more easily concealable, I'd accept a hefty discount/free tools, and still be pretty darned happy about it.

Either way, there'd be no way that I'd just accept the box as-is, and the implied suggestion that you **** it up (because you're buying build-quality, not appearance) is just utterly ridiculous.

They sold you an undamaged box. Had the freight company or whoever not screwed up, you would have gotten an undamaged box. Why, then, should you accept a damaged box without compensation?

You're really in the driver's seat here - I mean, I'm not suggesting that you try to negotiate for a free box, but ultimately, you either accept the damaged box with whatever discount and free stuff you deem appropriate, or you get a new box. Those are the only options the dealer/company should have.
