My mom was tossing this out. So I decided I would take it and maybe repurpose it. Its not particularly valuable, silverware box from the 50s-60s. The outside is in good shape. Original siler is long gone. Just had a couple pieces my mom needed to complete hers. So my question is, what would you repurpose it for? I was thinking maybe machining bits, or small parts storage. I dont know just yet.20180716_004944.jpg

You could keep all your small round/flat files in the slots (to keep them from banging into each other), and then store all the shorter pin punches and drifts in other areas in the box.

I learned many years ago to let her. For to many years I would grab something like that only to trip over it many times before throwing it out. Free is not always a good deal.

I have more questions than answers.
Wood chisel or carving tools. Been thinking about a better way to store my carving tools. I think you just showed me. While I like the rotating holder when using, I don't use them that much and wanted a more protect storage.

Alright, fair enough. I get it from my great grandpa(farmer) and my grandmother(Just in case hoarder). I can hear them both telling me to keep things I swear... lol I did have a thought to use it to store my micrometers and scantool. In the trash it will go. Now to resist until friday morning.

I can't tell for sure from the photo, is the box made out of wood? It appears to be of decent quality, and if you have something you can use it for it's not trash.

Do you know anyone who collects knives?
That is what it was made for.
Maybe a ad on a knife making site?
