Not telling you, i want it.
J/k, but not really lol.
Depending on the slides, and key situation it seems good on price.

Depending on in person condition and build quality, not much if anything more than what a new HF44" goes for. Not a huge fan of the drawer layout.

I don't know how this model compares to my Tech 1000, if its close I'd think around $ 400.would a be good price. Mac warrantied all of the slides on the one I bought. It's been a great box and some the drawers are fairly loaded.

I'd prefer shallower drawer next time around though.

Not sure what universe you guys are living in. I'd think $400 at the minimum.

I looked at one in person and they are small and very light. I could pick it up easily. The slides are smaller and wouldnt hold much weight. My classic 78 weighs 3 times as much. The one i looked at the seller wanted $300 and was begging me to take it and dropped down to $250 as i was leaving. Once you feel how flimsy it is youll see why its not worth much

That is an early tech 1000. They had a slightly different drawer arrangement for the first few years. The box is probably from '97, 98ish. It is the same measurements as a new box and built as heavy duty as any other Mac box, that is no beach. $500 to $600 I'd say is a good price.

it would have to be a freebie for me to take it.

every mac box i had was a POS, faded paint, and cheap drawer slides.

he won't budge on the price anyway. figured if I could get it cheap and make a few bucks, but oh well.

Even if you got it for $450, there might not be enough "meat on the bone" to be worth flipping it. Judging from reactions here, there wont be a line at your door to buy it for $750. After trucking it home with $4/gal. gas, cleaning/detailing supplies and your time, what do you figure you'd make on it?

Now if you could land that big fish for $250 (unlikely yes, but there ARE deals out there, you just have to kiss a lot of frogs) then you got something you could make a few bucks on.

 Have you ever owned one of the older 33" 8 drawer, twin pull bottom setups?

nope, i had a 26" top and mid box back in the mid 80's that were absolute garbage.

after 6 months or so of back and forth arguement with the dealer, he finally took the top box back, and left me with the paint faded mid box.

turned me away from mac, never bought much of anything from any mac dealer after that.

Lmfao ^^ that's great, your an ***. But the font is different size.

He may be an ***, but it doesn't change the fact that your signature is very self-centered. If you were more thoughtful of others you could just use ctrl+f to find your name instead of having to scroll looking for large blue text. But that probably requires a bit more intellect, the same intellect that knows the difference between you're and your.

Hum :dunno: Maybe the 33" boxes are better built than the 26" boxes. Not KR637 or KR550 quality but I think on par with a KR537/557. The slides are much easier to mess with than other brands. They did have a horrible paint fade issue. Hard to believe some of those were red at some point. I understand the bitter mouth with the dealer. After seeing your craftsman service truck box I'm a bit surprised you didn't fix 'er up.

Just to add. From what I've seen first hand, I think Mac/Matco had drastically different levels of build quality in their boxes from one model to another.

with referneb=ce the the CM top in my service truck. i EXPECT a CM to disintergate and fall apart after a couple years in that severe application.

what i dont expect from a truck brand box is to fall aprt after being moved around in a shop, AND have the paint fade to orange after 3 months.

what really pisses me off is that eventually matco warrantied the faded pain, MAC denied he problem ever existed, even tho the boxes were itentical with the exception of the diferent Mac vs matco drawer pulls.

not meaningto bad mouth any brand, but it justr brings up some bad memories and dealings with MAC tools over the years.

If that's the tech 1000 I would pay $500 ish and be happy. In good condition they go for $2000 all day near me. Sometimes $1700. They are a nice box. That one looks to be an early model. I have never owned a Mac box so I can't speak to the general quality.
