I paid $75 for a similar box with one more wide drawer, without the wallpaper. I'm very happy with it. It's a great size for a specialized purpose. I use mine for hammers, chisels, punches and pry bars.

Hey, you guys who think it's only worth $25 or $50: There's a lotta junk that sells for that much, and that stuff couldn't stand up to Hurricane Sandy like this box did.

If the box went through Sandy it was lucky. LOL It did not take a hit. That does not say anthing about the box!

I would pay $25 or $30 and hope to sell it for $60. I got $50 for the last one I sold that vintage and size. It says snap-on and that is the only reason I would buy it. Any other brand and I would not mess with it unless I got it for $20 or less. I would never waste my time restoring it. It is only an old tool box. The point that it says Snap-on means nothing to me.

i bought that exact model box several months ago for $30. its the original color, very few small scratches and no dents or decals. i felt i paid a few bucks more than i wanted to, but for the shape its in, i'm happy with it. i see those boxes all the time, usually selling for between $20. and $50. i walked away from dozens of them, usually because of condition, before i bought the one i have.

Emailed the guy. He said that it's worth about $400. But he would let it go for $250. I just sighed...

I'd pass than if he won't go less than $250. It is not worth it. Like the other poster said it will be with him until the day he dies at that price.

I have a snap on UT 22 (cantilever box), much more usefull as a road box in my opinion than the one pictured. I have ben trying to sell for $50 plus shipping, the problem is that it costs about $50 to ship it anywhere cause its so damn heavy.

I would love to find one of those boxes around here. Especially for the prices listed in this thread of $10-30!!!! If anyone has one for that price (or trade of a Kennedy 520), please let me know (SW Ohio). Have always wanted an older front cover snap-on box.

I think the issue with snap on tool boxes and the John Q public, is that they see just the snap on name and then the price just goes up. Nothing based on the tool boxes actual function or condition. Nerveless an accurate used market value. For $250 you could probably by an entire stack.

I didn't even know they still made those new.

This looks kinda interesting...

They do still make boxes in that style:

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...roup_ID=681712&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog

That first seller is dishonest though. The new ones are much better than the box he's trying to sell. His is an old '70s-80's model. Friction slides, missing the lock, bit beat up. Not worth too much.

The second one, the top looks like a Remline. Nothing special.

That box appears to be the same box I have. About 40 years old and still going strong. I would pay the 250 and go on. Very happy with mine.
