Always been curious to know what time peroid this box is from. I've always kind of thought late 40's-early 50's but not sure. Best tool box Iv'e ever had. It's huge. $10 Flea Market score! Been looking for a vintage Craftsman pad lock for it, keep missing the good one's on Ebay. All i can find are locks with no keys. I carry this in the back of my '31 Ford AV8 Pickup. Thanks for any help.

Late 40s to late 50s.

And it's damned cool.

Thanks. Yeah it's the coolest tool box I've ever had. It's big too. Those pics are of it on top of my dryer! It's a keeper for sure. My buddy wants to pin stripe it but I don't have the heart. It's made it this long intact, I'm not gonna be the guy to screw it up.

A wise choice. It looks awesome as is.

i have exactly that box -- but the colors are different. Mine is dark grey outside with dark grey tray. It was my father's, and dates from before I was born -- I'd guess late 1940s - early 1950s after the war when he was rigging machinery with his father before getting his degree and becoming a teacher. Some chance it dates earlier and was a hand-me-down from his dad, but I'd guess most likely 1947-51 for mine, and later -- five or ten years -- for yours. Guessing there.

Mine isn't in the same condition as yours, and although I used it for years it's just collecting dust now. I'm sorely tempted to salvage the logo from it for my archives and offer the remnants to anyone here for pickup or postage. Lemme know through pm.

That is one very cool looking box! And, I love the used but not abused patina Does it kind of remind you of Herman Munster's lunch box? Ken.

I like straight 6s and aftermarket speed eqpt from that same era. Really digging that engine. Thanks for sharing and sorry for hijacking your toolbox thread lol.
