What year box is this?

hey everyone. New member here and I can't figure out what year this box is.

The bottom I already had I believe its an 80's model

and also had this wrench in it pretty old I think

Looks like an 80's model to me as well.

With that style of side handles, it's a lot older than 80s.

860 makes it August, 1960.

I've got one just like it, and it isn't older than the 70's, but I don't remember exactly when I bought it.

The box is probably 1960s, the wrench is 1935-1941.

I'd say 60's to early 70's. Mine in that style is marked as a 72. The top box has been repainted, it looks as though you have a matching set.

On second look, I think my middle top drawer has the handle at the top, not the middle. Inside my lid, I have 'bars' going end to end, to hold papers, etc.

My dad bought that exact box in the late '60s.

His bottom box has roller bearing drawers... don't remember if the large drawers on the top box are ball bearings or slides... the small drawers are definitely friction slides. I can still hear the "THUNK" of the bottom drawers, and the "Shick-shick" of the double-action friction slides.

That style box was made for a couple of decades, hence the disparities of opinions on it's age. I think WWIIjeep nailed yours with the date code however.
