KRL722 Great condition no real marks just a few small scratches. How's the coated steel top as well.

Also comes with a KRL712 Side cabinet that was attached but never used.

Normally, I'd say AT LEAST 50% off retail, though, apparently, it's been a while since I looked at the Snap-on website, as retail on a KRL722 is now $6480, so that needs adjusted, maybe to 60%?

A look at KRL722's on Craigslist in my area show at least 8 of them near me, from an Arctic Silver for $2000 (no top) to a red-with-black trim for $5000 (again, no top, and another person has an identically colored box for $2499 just about 10 miles north of that).

I'd say $2000 is a pretty damned good deal, $2500 fair, and when you start pushing $3000, it's not really a deal anymore, considering offerings from folks like www.strictlytoolboxes.com.

I don't believe any ads that claim they paid full retail for a box, that's just not how Snap-on markets them. Drivers wheel and deal like used-car salesmen when selling a box - offering ridiculous trade-in values for 26" Craftsman stacks, there always seems to be some kind of instant rebate or sale on tool storage, etc.

Fwiw, I paid $1500 less than retail for my 722 brand new off of the truck. Was told when I'm ready to trade it in, he'd give me $3000 for it.

A nice used one with top is worth 2500 all day long around here. I bought one with side cabinet used for 2500 and sold side cabinet for 1400. Once a year or so you can buy a new one on sale for around 3000. but that still doesn't include top or side cabinet. I say anything under 3000 is a really good deal. But is probably worth at least 3500 with top and side. What are they asking ?

Not quite sure on the price. He's a friend and we haven't talked much about it. I'm fairly sure I'll sell the side cabinet due to space. Thanks all for the info.

Yeah, they go on good sales often. I just grabbed one brand new w/ stainless top, delivered the next day, $3600.....used better be less than that for the main box. Depending on how used it is, and with the side box, I'd say 2500 or so would be fair.

That is the million dollar question. Each area of the country will have a different answer. Some places that don't see a lot of boxes on craigslist they will go high, Here we have 2 mechanic schools, We see tool boxes each and every week on craigslist and lots and lots of brand new still in box snap on tools that students got and then quit school. So it really makes a difference where you are.

Seen a nice year old Midnight Blue 722 in the local craigslist for about $3200 US with the current exchange rate. It also had the stainless top.

Everything seems to be on the high side in Vancouver, but the average seems to be about $2500 US

A good dealer will sell you a new one for 50%+ off retail. I wouldn't consider paying more than 25% of retail for a used box, and it would have to be in very good condition and have no money owed on it for me to even consider it. Essentially without warranty at that point, I'd probably need to be more like <20% retail to bite.

I picked mine up brand new (but on sale + me being a haggler) for $2700. But I'd see them used around the general Baltimore/DC area asking $2200-3200 all the time before I got mine. Needless to say I wouldn't buy used (unless the $2200 one was cherry, maybe) once I found that out... I have the receipt in my name in the manual booklet to legitimately get anything warrantied for life. :D

Well I went ahead and picked it up. Actually I think I kind of over payed for it, he's a friend that has kids and they could use the money more than me right now.

I do have a question though. Does anyone know the specs of the bolts that hold the top on?

It's a nice box, and a bit of extra money to a friend that needs it isn't a bad thing. Lots of things more important than money.

I passed up the chance to make $1000 today at lunch, at the expense of a friend, and he would never have known about it. He had a gun for sale at a very reasonable price. I glanced at it, and recognized it was not the base model he thought it was, but was a higher grade model, and a rare variant at that with a 50% premium for that variation. So, instead of a $450 gun, it is a $1500 to $1600 gun. Instead of just buying it, I told him, and showed him how to look up the information on it, and how to sell it for what it was worth. Again, some things are more important than money.

First, I would sell the box and cabinet seperately. The cabinet should net half of retail easily if not a little more.

The box with top will be $2000 to $2500. A quick sale will net less. If you are patient, you can get more.
