I know it's impossible to give a price on an old piece of machinery without looking at it your self. But could anybody give me a ballpark figure what this lathe might be worth?

Does the motor run? How freely does the chuck turn?
That old girl needs a good once or twice over, I'd offer at the most $300 if it has any tooling that comes with it.

Runs fine. Everything seems to turn free.. It's sat for probably 5 years.. Before that it had been recently gone over "by an old machinist and trued up with a file" that's about all I know about it..

Asu,Ingrid it works and assuming you are going to use as a general purpose lathe verses expecting any high precision out of it
$300-$400 tops

Thanks for the response.. From what I've read (practical machinist forum and others) hand scraping is a legitimate way to "flatten" the bed of a lathe, providing an appropriate level of skill of course. Dunno.. Whatever the case I'm not going to be doing ultra precision work anyway. I think I'll give him the $150 he wants for it..

I'd drop that in a heartbeat if you've been looking for a lathe to mess around on. That would be at least $400 in the Atlanta area, or I've just been missing all the deals...
