What's a good solvent for blue Loctite?

I've got some dried blue Loctite on a decorative item. I'd like to use solvent to remove it (as opposed to some sort of abrasive method). I tried brake cleaner and naptha. Neither worked.

Any ideas?

Lacquer thinner should work.

I would try acetone. That's a good solvent for cyanoacrylate, which is in a family similar to loctite. What sort of decorative item? Just wondering, as acetone itself can damage lots of things.

Some heat may soften it and make it easier to remove.

I've used acetone for that many times.

If you decide to go with heat, try a soldering iron with the pointed tip. That way you don't burn the surrounding area.

By the way... "Loctite" helped us out at work a few years ago. We contacted them about the feasibility of using their product in situations where we would normally use plaster of paris. They were very helpful and if I recall correctly, offered to meet with us to offer further assistance. They mailed us a HUGE box of Loctite products to try in our applications.

Btw, I like to give positive feedback whenever the situation arises. Anger and frustration motivates us to write a negative review but I'm afraid we get lazy when it's time to pass on a good one.

ive tried methylene chloride, but its only partially successful. Aircraft stripper. 50/50 shot.

Acetone and laquer thinner laugh at it.
