If you decide to go with heat, try a soldering iron with the pointed tip. That way you don't burn the surrounding area.

By the way... "Loctite" helped us out at work a few years ago. We contacted them about the feasibility of using their product in situations where we would normally use plaster of paris. They were very helpful and if I recall correctly, offered to meet with us to offer further assistance. They mailed us a HUGE box of Loctite products to try in our applications.
Btw, I like to give positive feedback whenever the situation arises. Anger and frustration motivates us to write a negative review but I'm afraid we get lazy when it's time to pass on a good one.
