Hello guys,

This is a thick plastic board that has been sitting in the garage for a couple of years now. I finally found a good use for it but i have to cut it in 3-4 different pieces.

What should I use to cut it? It's around 1/2" thick

Thanks!

Table saw
Circular saw w/ guide
Jig saw w/ guide
Bandsaw saw
Router / multi tool

In the order top to bottom would be my preference.

What type of plastic is it? Does it seem hard or soft to say a finger nail impression?

Looks to be UHMW? A table saw would work best but a circular saw would be fine also.

Thanks guys! It's hard plastic.

I thought about a circular saw but i'm worried about melting the plastic. Not that it needs to be a perfect cut but still!

As long as you keep a decent feed rate, it should be fine. I've cut lots of plexiglass with a table saw, & never had a problem.

Make sure you are cutting in a ventilated area. Most plastics/composites, give off harmful gases when cut. Cyanide can be one of them.

Been there, done that. Too many times. (but then again, I'm an idiot) :D

Looks like UHMW we cut it all the time with a table saw or radial arm saw, we mill profiles in it also with a milling machine, you can also take a power plane and clean the surface up just like wood.
