Free Snap-On add ons for a roll cart......that match the color of my cart!!!!! lol

Kinda long story but here she is

So a buddy at school is a Ford Tech, well 2 weeks ago he had one hell of a week. A new guy was hired into his shop and had been there for maybe 4 days, not a big deal but when he came back from a test drive that tech was doing a brake job in his bay. He didnt mind too much since he was getting ready to take a lunch, well after his lunch he walks out into the shop to see everybody gathered around his bay.......when he walks over to see what happened he sees his Snap-On roll cart smashed and his Snap-On KRA2411PCM bottom box through the wall and half way on top of the car that was getting brakes done!!!!

Turns out the tech didnt pump the pedal back up after he was done, put the damn car in drive, insted of reverse, and rammed my buddys tool box dead!!!

The good to this story---- The tech was fired, my buddy was promoted, the dealer gave him the retail value of the cart and the box and hes using his student discount buying the same box for half the price along with a side cabinet and a upper box and he gave me these from his old cart, sadly this is all that was left. They are scratched up from the crash but hell for free who cares!!!

No pics, they had it cleaned up before any customers or big boss saw what happened. Some how the car ended up getting a quick buff from the paint and body shop to get the blue paint off of it and came out without a dent or scratch on it. lol

I can't tell you how many times I've seen this happen. A couple of dozen at least. The most spectacular resulted in a car ending up in on it's nose in the front end pit and taking out the new blue GM branded four wheel alignment machine. They fired the mechanic.

Leaving a transmission jack under the rack overnight can have some pretty interesting results too. I came in one morning and a Chevy van was sitting on its side on top of a new Corvette. They fired that guy too.

Wow, i cant think of what it would be like to see that happen!! I do see stuff happen quite a bit during classes but they are mostly teens that dont know squat about cars but it never goes to the point of destroying something. We did have a kid put a Chevy 1500 up on the lift by the rear springs but he did the shake test before he lifted it more than 6 inches off of the ground, needless to say it fell off and dented the bed a little bit.

Funny how many of those "oops" moments happen.

We had a mechanic working on a Cat 793 (300 tonner) release the park brake on it (loaded on a 10% ramp) without securing the brakes and run over his own service truck.

I did one at home a few years ago that's still a point of pride - just got done topping off the radiator on my pickup, closed the hood and went for a test drive. Took the garden hose with me, along with the wall spigot and the trash can after the hose caught it.

After re-reading this I realize you didn't mention anything about the tools inside. Were they damaged and does he get reimbursed for that?

This made me think about a safety film I watched back in the early 1980's by Cat. I think that it was called "Dangerous Hands". There were a number of runaway machines in it along with lots of burns, amputations, crushing, and assorted other mayhem. It looked like dozens were maimed making it. :lol_hitti

It was pretty much like the drivers education safety films of the day. You know, "Blood on the Asphalt", "Eviscerated Pedestrian", etc.

I remember thinking at the time that I damn sure didn't want to work at that place with those clods!

No tools were damaged, the roll cart only had sockets and wrenches in it and he was going to sell it anyways so it was mostly cleaned out. The shop wouldnt let anybody take pictures of this in fear of a lawsuit!!! I would have loved to seen the box, he said it was really outside! The tech put it throught the wall!!!! It damaged the back of the box, the casters, scratched it all to hell and dented a couple of drawers, the shop is now using the lower box to hold scanners and company tools.

He got $5500.00 for the box and cart that he used to buy the same box only with the Carbon fiber wrap, a matching upper box and a side locker add on.
