Board and batten ? Grooved plywood ? or Tin, i'm building a 16x20 shed and i want to side it cheap with one of the three i guess, we'll see how it goes, i'm going to build the whole thing myself

Mismatched tin looks pretty bad.....I certainly wouldn't want to live next to it.

Throw on some paint and it can all be the color of your choice

Seriously, though, it depends on what's important involving the location and the desired look.
I just built a "tin shed" because it was the cheapest, fastest way to build per square foot of dry storage for lawn equipment / tractor stuff. (15 by 24 run-in shed -- soup to nuts under $3K including good hardware to put it togther and a new battery powered set of drill/ impact driver) It looks reasonable, IMO, but you can't even see it from the road, or the house for that matter, and our are is pretty rural, so it looks fine....
I found the better sheet metal ordered through a local hardware store was much better per square foot than piecing together any of the closest like materials from Lowes / HD. You get the sheets pre-cut to length and only have to cut angles for gable ends. Plus it has all the correct trim available for whatever design you have.

If I lived in a housing development with close neighbors, though, I would not have used those materials / design.

Something to keep in mind...tin is LOUD in the rain...you'll hear it if it's close to the house.

16x20 is closer to a garage than a shed, so I am guessing you're not in a subdivision and don't have an HOA

I'd frame it up 16" on center and use metal siding from Menard's. It's thick enough for you to stand/sit on while you're putting it up. The siding at Home Depot is thinner and pretty cheap.

yeah i'm out in the middle of no where i can build whatever i need too, no permits here, i'll start pricing today and see what i come up with thanks guys

I just finished my 16x20 garage and used Smartside from Lowes looks like T1-11 but instead of being plywood base it's OSB base and preprimed. Once it was painted and trim added it maatched the stuco on our tudor style house pretty well.

If you go with the 36" coverage sheet metal, you may want to adjust your sizing of the building like I did. I priced up materials first and decided to set my dimensions at 15 x 24 to use full sheets with less cutting /waste. With the pre-cut lengths, I put all 34 sheets of metal up in about 12 hrs between 2 days.
