My 1/2 facom compact impact.

Probably the work supplied VCDS and elsa however, one of the most in-depth tech set ups i've ever seen.

Probably my Kobalt (Tekton) 3/8" ratchet & sockets.

I've used them for just about everything for a decade plus now, and it's never given me any headaches. It's a little sentimental for me because it was my first set of tools, but hell if it isn't also my go-to on just about everything on my cars.

Runner up is my reciprocating saw, because it just keeps on giving :lol_hitti

The one tool that made the most difference for me was going from my small 13 gallon Husky air compressor to my 60 gallon. Once I had it hooked up, and could actually do real work with air tools, it snowballed into what I have now. If I never got that air compressor, I would still be doing everything by hand and enjoying it way less. So I would say my air compressor.

Other than that, my most used tool is my Porter Cable 20v impact driver. That thing is amazing, and made a world of difference compared to using a drill for driving in screws.

My Makita cordless 3-speed 1/4" hex impact driver. From tiny screws to lugnuts, it does it all. I use it almost every day.

Overall, has to be my Snap On ratchet screwdriver. Just because it gets so much use (or at least did) and it's so nice to use.

My COATS 7060EX-EH3 rim clamp tire changer with the robo arm (for changing run flat or low profile tires). I paid $500 for this machine which had a jammed up transmission. Just had to take the trans apart and clean it out and she was as good as new. I can’t express how ridiculously convenient it is to have a tire changer (and COATS 105O wheel balancer - paid $400 for mine) at home. It is such a joy to be able to swap out tires on your own time (day or night) and being able to balance them whenever something doesn’t feel quite right. It just takes being self reliant to the next level. Yes, these machines take up precious garage space but they are such a joy to use. I highly recommend getting these even before considering a car lift.

A close second is my Branick 7400 strut compressor. Yes I know a lot of folks simply buy loaded struts nowadays but when you can quickly simply replace the shock itself, you’ll save a ton of money. Plus it makes changing the shocks so easy and effortless and extremely safe too. I found mine used for $400. There’s a lot of deals out there, just keep looking on Craigslist as there’s always shops that are closing or upgrading equipment.

Tire machine and balancer are high in my list of wants for the shop. Makes me about 99% self sufficient aside from alignments.

That’s the last machine I’m looking for now - a Hunter alignment machine. I’ve seen some cheap ones for sale but I need one that can support cars up through 2010.

My little red box with a Snap-on midget, set of extensions, and SAE and Metric sockets. Getting that quality 1/4" set made an immense difference in how I use tools, I found that the quality set let me do the work of a 3/8" set with 1/4" drive. More agile, lighter weight, fits into tighter places. It also led me to eliminate cheap tools from my stuff, and only use good ones, once I realized that there really is a difference and it is sustantial in some cases.

For hand tools, the first thing I usually grab for any project is a Lufkin 6ft folding rule. Outside, I would have to say the Kubota compact utility tractor.

Mine is Black Bull DP5UL 5 Speed Drill Press, which is my favorite and major tool for my most of the works.

I love my Hitachi 10.8v impact. I do a lot of electronics repair, and it's so tiny and light, yet ballsy enough to turn any screw in electronics work.

For automotive work, I love my Harbor Freight 1/2" extendable ratchet. Laugh all you want, I have a lot of other brands of ratchets in my box, but I always seem to reach for the HF extendable.

I think the one that brightens me up the most when I come in to start work is my steel top work bench. It's built on 2 - 41" roll cabinets and has receiver hitches on 12" centers. I'm in the middle of adding another 3' section on it right now so it will be 2' x 10' after today! Can't wait!

Runner up is my wilton 4" swivel vise.

Power tool category is my DP.

X3 Although I still use my craftsman sockets, I use them 9/10 times with snap on drive tools. Their is a big difference in what I can accomplish with smaller more robust ratchets, extensions, and accsry...

Top on my list for mechanical tools.
Snap on tllf72 and The Knipex pliers wrench is definitely a close second

For construction tools it has to be my Dewalt dws780 miter saw.
Our shop would not exist on the scale it does without that saw.

I really like my hose clamp pliers that I think were from Advance Auto. I always used lineman pliers or what ever was around to remove hose clamps and it was always an inconvenience. Hose clamp pliers make it so easy and they get a ton of use.

Jeffrey Martin, Trainmaster. He isn't the sharpest tool, or the shiniest tool, or the even the brightest tool out there. But he is the fun-est tool to abuse there ever was!

I did post the reason. I think it was removed, because I cannot find it. She and I had a relationship in the 1960s. I was 17 or so and she was in her mid thirties, then. I was given the tool a few years ago. Pleasant memories.

You rascal!

My friend's mother gave this tool to me. It is not my favorite tool, but she assured me it was her favorite tool, many times and for many years.
What is it? It is a hand held cranked ******** she used to relieve "anxiety."

Are you sure it wasn't to relieve Hysteria?

Hysteria (2011)

I luv Maggie Gyllenhaal. She was good in that movie. Funny because it was a true story.
