I've got a few folding banquet tables I use a lot, but I'm tempted to get something like a B&D workmate or the Jeter tables that are designed to work with clamps etc.
Whats good/ good value?

If you can find two old vintage workmates on CL, you can make a worktop with cleats underneath that you can lay on top of them and clamp between the sliding jaws. Very stable and breaks down to nothing for storage.

I've got a Keter and I really like it. Very stable. Clamps are nice that they lock in to the table top. Of course they are squeeze clamps so they aren't anything too strong but they hold a work piece fine for sanding or routing. Best thing with the Keter is they setup and tear down so quickly and easily.

Search this forum for "workmate" and you will get many threads discussing the same question. Mixed in there are many great ideas for clamping and work tables.
The biggest Workmate thread is:
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=92136&highlight=workmate&page=32

When the thread was running I watched CL for used ones but found that most sellers wanted near new prices for their old workmates. Estate/garage sales may be the best choice for getting them cheap.

Good used Workmates are hard to find. Stay clear of the newer ones with plastic clamp blocks (the part that runs on the clamp screws).

I have two of the Keter non-adjustable tables. I think they're great. Super solid. I use them all the time.

One has the squeeze clamps and the other came with toggle style clamps.

+1 on the original Workmate. in addition to CL you can also get them at estate sales. If you register at estatesales.net and put tools as your interest (can put other stuff too), set the radius from your zip code, you will get an email with pictures. I skip all the furniture pics and go to the garage / basement pics and sometimes see an old Workmate in the pic.

I actually bought a new Workmate last year at Menards on sale for $20 and have been very pleased with it. I also have an old 8ft long plastic table I have abused the heck out of. I built legs for my table saw that allow it to be used as an out feed table. Should have done that long ago.
