I have only began the long journey to a tool set I can be proud of. I have been buying diapers literally non stop since December 07 and I still have at least a year and some months before my 8 month old twins no longer need them.

What I have:

Snap-on
13 or 14 piece screw driver set
pliers, cutters, nettle nose, channel locks(12" and a larger one) ect...
6" and 12" crescents(Blue Point)
Heal bar
9 or 10" drift
20 piece allen wrench set
8 piece tourqe bit set
1/4 and 3/8 drive ratchets(Williams)
1/2 drive SAE shallow and deep sockets 3/8-1-1/4(Williams)
1/4 drive 6pt shallow socket sets metric and SAE(Williams)
2 or 3 punches no chisels

Craftsman
Top and bottom tool chest
1/4 and 3/8 ratchets and socket sets 6 and 12 point(still lacking much in sockets)
SAE and metric combo wrenches and some SAE double open end
3 piece pry bar set
multimeter
1/2 impact
Sears and Roebuck 4hp 220v compressor

Other
Gear Wrench swivel neck ratcheting wrenches SAE and metric
3 piece vise grips, 2 F wrenches, no pipe wrench
1/2, 3/8, and 1/4 ratchets and extensions(S K, KAL, KD, Craftsmen)
Feeler gauges, tons of allens, filter wrench,...
227 piece Kobalt tool set(I really like these ratchets)
A large mix of repeat sockets(some Snap-on and couple MAC)
pneumatic cutters
Odds and ends....

I love what I have but have much to go.

I except hand outs,...lol

60% of what I have is from people more fortunate than myself in the tool department.

i hear ya dan :lol_hitti

i figure i have (maybe, and hopefully?) another 10 years that i'll be physically able to do my job. after that, i'll probably have to retire, and haul everything home.

hopefully my trail truck, (and probably my harley) will be long gone by then, and i'll have some room in the garage to pile up tools and toolboxes.

old lady has standing orders to keep what she wants, and auction off the rest

still wanting that sales position?

My biggest concern is my offspring or the ol lady selling my stuff dirty cheap when I pass.

thats gonna happen,
they'll probably need the money,
and have no idea what the tools are for...

it wont do them any good sitting there collecting dust and rust....

my old lady has no idea what it would cost to replace everything i have, whatever she'd get by selling/auctioning it off is money in her hands to do what she need to do,
like continue living, after i'm gone....

No they hired a guy who knows nothing about equipment like they always do. This one may actually stick. Has had a couple good sales I made for him. I applied at cn railroad for a conductor position.

It is early to tell but I believe my kids will have great use for my tools. We are big on off roading, dirt bikes, and I am soon starting work on my kids junior dragster. If they want to race it the will know how to fix it.

I think all my tool will be estate saled off for a fraction for what I got in them. No one in my family would know what to do with them.
