Hey guys!!! I am almost done finnishing the inside of my new garage and am trying to figure the best place for everything. It seems to me like the corners are a tough space to use efficently. I mean you cant put the fridge there with a bench one side and shelves on the other cause the door won't open. same with a tool box. cant put the welder there with suff on either side cause you won't be able to roll it out! Let me see some ideas of what you guys have done?

That's where my medium-sized junk accumulates...
Shop vac, compressor, floor jacks, propane tanks, folding ladders, pop-up canopies, bags of mulch or potting soil, etc.

Corners can be tricky. They can either be space wasters or space savers. Here's what I have done in 3 of my corners. I'm still working on the fourth one.

Great place for a compressor. Just leave a little room for access to maintain it.

With the man door open all of this is out of site. Did you say you couldn't put a fridge in the corner? I did ... albeit a small one.

My front corners don't have a lot of space between the wall and the over head door but it's just enough for some shelves for things I use both inside and often take outside.

Funny, I was just thinking about this problem in my own shop yesterday. Thought about posting, but couldn't come up with the right way to phrase it.

I'll be watching this one for ideas.

My four corners have...

1.) a sink & the entry door,
2.) floor space between tool boxes to access wall hung brooms and such,
3.) portable bench grinder and vise horses, and
4.) the stove.

I kept my work benches from getting into the corners so that the corners themselves would not become a "catch-all" that I could not easily reach.

I considered putting in corner shelving where my brooms are hanging, but I wanted to miminnize the storage shelving in my work shop so that I could maintain a cleaner look.

Hey Sick your garage is cool. Maybe you should become a garage designer. The engine blocks are for weight I presume. Where did all the wood and tin come from?

Thanks for the compliments! I have been dreaming of this garage for..., well since I knew what a garage was. I have been saving used lumber / barnwood for years with this in mind and have recently moved into a house with no shop. So, I had to build one - my way. Darn the luck! Here is a link to a short thread on my shop to avoid hi-jacking this one...

And here's a link to the vise horses, fresh this morning page 13 towards the bottom, and, yes, the block really solidifies the stand...

+1 for the air compressor. I put a corner cabinet up to he ceiling to take advantage of that dead space. In another corner I have a shelf unit with a small gap for tall stock I don't want to store up high, my drill press sits in that corner as well.

Back by the doors, there was very little space, so I ran slatwall right up to that corner so I can store brooms, longer tools, etc.

Back Right: Weed Wackers, electric mulcher, down low 2 wheel handtruck (its a pain in the *** to get to), and water spicket with hose coiled on floor. Works OK

Front Right: Garden tools, details posted other threads. Works perfect as tools are easy to grab without interfering with cars etc.

Front Left: Air Compressor (like everyone else) Chainsaw above on small shelf

Rear Left: Drill Press, short lumber stacked behind, Spray guns overhead, drill chargers tucked next to it, clamps on kitchen drain pipe.

This is a good exercise. I will further evaluate my space usage for logics of location, possible organizing and tyding up.

Here is one corner with my shovels, brooms, rakes, etc.

This corner is a set of shelves that is 8' long. Nothing touching the floor support wise.

The last corner without a door is my workbench area.
