That would be handy. Amazing on how the different manufactures manage to stick their hands in your pocket for ingenious redesigns of existing tools.

I had one. 17mm and 19mm. Used it a few times and went back to regular impact sockets. I felt it was to sloppy with the extension. Used on mb lug bolts.

On a regular anvil and an extension they are very sloppy . On an extended anvil gun they are cats *** in tire shop . Used lots in my early days .

Around the garage I most often just use a deep impact when it fits though.

I've found you lose some torque with flip sockets and a 3" extension. I have three flip sockets that are half sizes (18.5 x19.5, 21x21.5 & 22x22.5) for dealing with rust swelled wheel nuts. If they had those sizes in regular deep impact sockets, I wouldnt bother with flip sockets.

Actually these flip sockets are great for anyone dealing with tire work and mostly use the impact with extended anvils and the 21.5 and 19.5 will save your *** on chrome lug nuts that swell up overtime

Same here, when I worked at a tire shop we had those on extended anvil impact guns and they were great to use on the various cars, you just flipped it to whichever car you were working on.

I blame them for beating up the stainless cladding on lug nuts during tire rotations. Then my lug wrench spins around and round when i get a flat on the road.

They take up less space on the tool cart and as a former tire changer, the shop usually supplied them. Didn't have to wear out my own deep sockets. Most tires shops I worked at also supplied the long shaft impact guns. Kept my normal I/R in the box for when something really needed power.

zackly, after they're fucked up. They got fucked up by tiremen not caring what size socket they try first. "we got replacements for sale".
Local towing company practically hauls 1 a week to tire store because owner can't change wheel.
I agree clad nuts **** from new, its a racket.
oh yea, i like flip sockets.

ive used the tekton one for a few years, i like it because i take tons of tires off in a day, make it easy to spot in my socket drawer. and i like the slight amount of extension it offers

I'll just add that the 3 socket sets like the Tekton also cover 7/8" or 22mm lug nuts or wheel bolts if that size is what someone may need
