I don't have the room but what's that roller worth by itself? The badge looks like its all black is this correct and it's listed as bicentennial is it missing decals?

That bottom box is a KR562 --one well built box--I think '76 was the first year it was offered. It has six drawers on the front and seven on the left side--with bulk storage in the back. Also super duty casters with a brake( shown in pic) so you can roll the box up to your work. I have one built in '80 that I bought used in '85 and it is still ticking. I would pay much more than that for one if it was near me. The top box I can't tell what it is--is a bonus!

I think that is a Taco wagon. The big blank area on the left side indicates there is a set of drawer s in the end, and the large casters also look like it...

It is a very cool box, but a KR 560 or 660 is more versatile as you can put it up against a wall and be able to access all the drawers. You need more room with a taco wagon.

You have to remember that in the '70's and '80's most mechanics didn't need metric tools--I used mine in a truck shop and really didn't need that much room---today it's a different story.

My point is for its day that box provided plenty of storage--today with all the different wrenches, ratchets, many kinds of fastener tools , and power tools both air and cordless-- it falls short in storage room.

So you'd pay much more than that if it was near you on one hand, but then you're complaining it falls short in storage on the other.

My point wasn't regarding the storage, it was regarding the usability of the box, as the taco wagon needs more room for one to have full access to. You seem to have completely misread my post, while offering up contradictory viewpoints on the box itself.

Since I have the same box I know the limitations of the box and I would gladly buy another one for that price since every one for sale in my area is at least twice that price! There is one on eBay for $3000 which I doubt the seller will get--- missing some drawers also.

I guess it depends on how the shop is arranged my first job wrenching was in a fleet shop and they probably had 10-15 of those boxes arranged and assigned to workers.
All of them older than me.
Each box was positioned in between the bay doors for access to both sides and then we had the same boxes with shop tools positioned for easy access and everyone to use or share.

You must be paranoid! It wasn't a superior comment at all--go back and read ! I pointed out that it might not suit the needs of the modern mechanic but it did in situations like jersey boat builder mentioned--almost everyone in the first truck shop I worked at had one because you had to put your box in toolroom at the end of the shift.

Yeh in between each bay we had 4 electric outlets and 2 air outlets.
The back storage doors had a grommet for electric and chargers so we could lock our stuff up.
The boxes were so old you couldnt even tell who or what make they were but they were built for a beating.

In the right arrangement or situation it would be a great box. If I had a 2 bay garage I would definitely have one in the middle just to cut trips to the back of the bay short..
