I was surprised to learn via a quick search that there isn't a general "What's it?" thread on here. Did I miss it or ? If that's true, then let the fun begin.....

I found this at my dad's place.. not sure what it is... (not the ruler or the staple that I learned was on the bench / in the picture by mistake). No ID markings or anything.. but obviously purposefully made...commercially. Almost has a Stanley feel to it..

The end where the pin comes out, when recessed, only has a small dimple in it.

Any ideas?

Marctrees, I thought of that too but the dimple is too shallow, and has a hard stop (cannot push a brad up into the shaft where the pin is). Will double check when I get home tonight though..

PacificVette, interesting... I'll have to play with that a bit on some plastic tube when I get home tonight... hum.....

Thanks ..

It looks like a Molex pin extractor - used to press out the pins in Molex-type electrical connectors. Usually they are spring loaded.

I'm familiar with some of the various pin push out devices / extractors. Did a quick google search and didn't see this one.. Seems a bit large for that purpose. Will keep looking..
