Found these in a bunch of stuff cleaning out a garage for family and can’t figure them out. I’m assuming something for reassembly? Maybe for installing o rings or something? Not sure the metal one should be in the same category but it was with the others.

Are there part numbers on the other side of the handles?

I don’t see any - imprinted/rubbed off or otherwise on the white tipped ones. The metal one has some writing SSDC 8?

Yup. Top is straight, middle is Phillips, third is JIS. Bottom one is a hex bit driver.

Nope. The plastic ones are pretty flexible, and all three are roll pinned (last one is just rotated 90 deg).

Aligning some holes in adjacent parts? If none of the Snap On junkies know, maybe an email to Snap On.

I wondered that as well.

Are the shafts ceramic, nylon, or plastic?
Maybe non-conductive?

I should have been more descriptive - on the top 3, the material is definitely some type of polymer and they are fairly flexible, like I could bend them to almost 90 degrees and they'll spring back.

SSDC8 Is a clutch head screwdriver. I have one for Quadrajet carburetors. So my bets are someone just used the handles to make their own custom tool for something. They ground the tip of the metal one and bent it. I probably have 20 different "custom made" wrenches and "screwdrivers" in my box.

Agreed that those appear to be made by someone (not SO). Interested to hear if you find out who/why/etc.

Huh interesting - the garage was a guy that did autobody work from what I can tell. They are nice handles, so I can see the draw to using them for custom tools.

That's a good hint. Maybe he used those as drifts for aligning painted panels.

For some reason they look familiar to me but I just can't place them. I want to think they are abrasive - like the top two started with a blunt end like the third one. Not getting any google hits on anything like that though. So are they smooth or do they feel abrasive at all?
The presence of the roll pins leads me to believe that we're basically looking at someone using those handles like file handles and the ends are replaceable - thereby sacrificial.

They look like nylon or UHMW in the photo.

I can't tell if the bottom one has a groove at the end. If it does, my guess would be a brake shoe spring tool.
