Whats the difference M12+M12fuel?

Looking at the Milwaukee cordless tools.
What is the difference between the "M12" and "M12Fuel" tools?
Nothing useful on their website that I could find

M12 is a regular brushed motor. Fuel series means a brushless motor.

the original battery for m12 was 1.5 amp hr the new ones are 2.0 amp hrs. Also the old xc battery were 3.0 and the new ones are 4.0 the new battery's will work with old tools.
