What's the highest quality fixed welding lens?

Lens not helmet. Regardless of price, cream of the crop, bees knees, cats pajamas welding lens. One to rule them all.

Phillips Alloweld. Very $$$ but has the best glass and optical clarity available, I believe.

If you want a great fixed lens that isn't $600 I believe the #10 gold Omni-view was the best. It was only like $20.

If they survived the move, I have a couple of the cobalt blue silver mirror lenses from the late 1970s. Somewhere. They were boxed up.

But, really, any lense will do (used to be they were all from the same mfg, just different packaging.) The gold plastic let you see in colors other than green.

Interesting to hear that. I absolutely love the gold lens and far prefer it to a green lens. The amount of temperature gradient and color you can see with one is amazing. Especially on stainless.
