I bought a small tool lot today, and this ratchet was in it.

It was frozen up, but was able to disassemble, degunk, and lube it. Now it seems to work fine.
All I know about FACOM is that they are a French company who once owned S-K. But that's it. Are their tools any good? Is this ratchet a keeper or seller? What about repair parts - available in the US? Any info would be appreciated.

Great tools!!! Kind of Europe's Snap on or I guess I should say Mac since Stanley bought them recently. Ratchet is a keeper. You have to find the sweet spot when tightening the head screw. a drop of loctite will keep from loosening up.

Thanks for that info! I took the thing apart, and discovered it's a sliding pawl like the TUFF 1 rats. Very thick head, too. Definitely going to keep this puppy!

The more I handle this ratchet, the more I like it. I didn't think I would like the rubber handle at first. But it's wearing on me.

Fujitsu used to have a subsidiary and a line of super computers called Facom. They were sold through Amdahl Corporation at the time in the US. The Japanese pronounced it "fah kom" and it came out sounding like "****'em" which was hilarious back then.
