IR thunder gun... The toolwarehouse.net His is a JET. Both good guns, but the IR is WAY louder(which may bother some people) but it is also a 10 thousand RPM gun... so bolts go-a-flyin whenever your using it.

Handtool: probably those weird bent nose Facom pliers. I seem to use them for everything.

Power tool: Well, technically my flashlight (if you call that a power tool). Otherwise, my cordless drill/driver

Air tool... that's easy... impact gun

Good thread!

#1: hand tool - Craftsman combination wrench (set, but mostly 7/16 through 5/8 sizes)
#2: power tool - Makita 12v drill #6216 "Industrial metal gear housing" HD model
#3: air tool - bead blast cabinet, followed closely by die grinder

Funny how much I have invested in sockets, ratchets, and impacts, but I almost always reach for a combination wrench for casual work. I really ought to get a set of the longer professional wrenches, or buck up for some Snap-On flank drives.

Go for SK... They have them in long pattern 6pt. Those will be my next set of wrenches. Much cheaper, just as durable, and more comfortable than the snap ons.

Same here. I actually have a full compliment of sockets (impact and chrome), ratchets (still looking for a snap on 3/8) and a couple sets of gearwrenches. But the first tools that I reach for are usually my long combo wrenches.

I gotta give an honorable mention to my IR butterfly impact in the air tool category. I love that thing... :rocker: ...had it out again today to change the mower to the dethatching blade.

Between a good set of combination wrenches and my butterfly impact, I think I could do without ratchets.

OK, dumb question, where can I find an SK? I don't recall seeing them at Sears, Napa, Northern Tool, or snapon.com, which unfortunately are about the only tool dealer stores and websites I have the time to frequent LOL.

Id pick out the item# you want from the sk site

www.skhandtool.com and then look for it on the site. If they dont have it shown on the site, ask them to get it for you.

Hey, dink; how do you like those WERA ergonomic handle screwdriver and the FACOM ratchet? I have a thing for European tools and both of those look like they could be superior designs; how do you like them?

I like amazon.com for SK. I bought a full metric and SAE set of stubby wrenches there for $80. Retail is almost $300.
