I'm looking for something to take surface rust and paint off of a rear end housing I'm cleaning up to paint for my '69 stang. What do you all recommend to get the job done? Grinder, with what type of attachment? Thanks in advance!

On the car? Braided wire wheel cup on a 4-1/2" grinder. Finish details with a small SS wire brush and a pick if needed.

Sandblasting is the only way to get the rust out. Wire wheels are only going to polish it. Stay away from POR-15 too, one mistake and it will peel or the top coat won't stick. Use epoxy and Eastwood's Chassis Black. A 69 is not a car to take shortcuts on.
