whats the solution

So Im in the middle of installing a brick light post in my front yard/driveway to replace an old rotten steel tube light post and the light that was previously there had the wire running right thru the original concrete form so i had to dig everything up and tcut the wire on the bottom of the form so now the wire is too short to reach the new lighting. So my question is the following, Is there a way to extend solid 12 guage wire underground. because the wire is about 3 feet deep and there is no way i can pull it thru all the way up to the house...

add some wire and used Water proof wire nuts possibly ?

They make underground splice kits. Lowes or HD will have them.
