Mine better be at 50 degrees, +/-, since that is what I left the thermostat set to.

Re: What's the temperture in your 'GARAGE' ?

I keep mine at 52 during the days, 45 at night and when I feel the need to splurge, it goes as high as 60 (but mostly 56). I have an old forced hot air fuel oil fired furnace, it is one of my best $250 ever spent. I also have a used lanair waste oil furnace that I am hoping to figure out this winter, so maybe next year I can burn waste oil too!

usually leave it at 50, turn it up to 65 when working or 70 if just hanging out.

I'll have to check a thermometer to be sure, but based on the current outside airtemp of 15-20 deg F, I'd have to guess it somewhere in the 30's. A bit chilly, so I'm sure I won't be out there long tonight! Dreamin' of a heated garage!

I have in-floor heating set at 64 here in Wisconsin. With that type of system you have to pretty much leave the setting the same day and night. Any change you make takes a long time to take effect. I suppose I could save some money by setting it down more, but it's nice and comfy in there. It's only money. When your feet are warm, you're comfortable!

Same temp as outside I imagine~16F
No ceiling and installed ridge/sofit vents when we did the roof this thanksgiving. I'm just happy my stuff doesn't need buckets on top of it to catch the water leaking in during the rain.

Re: What's the temperture in your 'GARAGE' ?

its in the single digits here, was 7* last night. Mine stays solid at 55*. As that is where I leave the thermostat. If im out there working, it usually stays there. If im just messing around, or wasting time, getting out of the house, I usually set it to 60*.

No heat in mine, so the temp will be in the low teens tonight. If Im working when it is below freezing I fire up my infrared torpedo heater.

60. In floor heat is the greatest. I heat 650 sq.ft to 60 all winter for less than $225.00 a season. Set it and leave it.

Mine was a little under 5 celcius(40f) when I got out here. Turned on the little 220 v construction heater and it was at 15c (60f) in about 10 minutes.

Mine is set at 57 degrees. Costs about $60./month for gas and electricity for a 2560 sq. ft. shop. The heater is a forced air natural gas unit laid over horizontal. I removed it from the house when we installed central air. It was only a couple of years old at the time. I paid about $380. for it.

Re: What's the temperture in your 'GARAGE' ?

January is an off month for me in the garage, it is too costly to heat such a large space when I barely go out there this month,so 35- 40F. In February I will boost it to 45-50 when I'm not in there and let it rip when I am!

Re: What's the temperture in your 'GARAGE' ?

Mine is usually 50 give or take a degree or two. Generally it depends on the outside temps and how hard the wind is blowing. My wood burner is an old ******* and not real efficient. If I bought a new airtight, I would cut my wood consumption in half and probably cheap the garage warmer at night.

I burn a fire everyday I'm home to keep the concrete warm, once that is done, it helps maintain the 50 degree temperature.

Re: What's the temperture in your 'GARAGE' ?

Using a kerosene torpedo heater, I set the thermostat to 60 when I am not out there. Working on the truck last night, I cranked it to 70 and was working in a t shirt while it was in the 20's outside.

So far I'm running about $20 a week in kerosene cost so if I figure 4 months of heat (at the outside) it will run me around $320 to heat the place. Not too bad for 1600 sq ft with almost 16' ceilings.

21' x 31' three car attached. It is insulated. No heat. Just checked 47*F in the garage and 22*F outside.

By the way. This is my first post and I find myself spending way too much time here. So many wonderful garages/shops and getting some great ideas for my own.

I have a 45k btu natural gas garage heater. Similar to the hotdawg ceiling hung heaters, but forget the manufacturer of the unit. It starts with a D.

It's 20 F here in Chitown and my little Williams convection natural gas furnace is keeping my 700 square foot garage with 10 foot ceilings at 50F. Costs me about $15 extra a month to heat my mancave.

I can pump up the settings and get the garage up to 75 F when were below 0 in about an hour.
I run a box fan over the furnace to even the temp.

Best part about my furnace, it was a freeby from a HVAC friend who was moving his business out of state!!!

Regardless of the outside temps during the winter, my little 440 sf shop is kept at 10C (50F) when I'm not in it, and a few degrees warmer if I'm out there working. I heat it with a small 240V construction heater.

Um... -15* C today. Felt like 0 once I got going. If I am desperate, I'll turn on the propane heater, but I was not doing anything that required taking my gloves off today.

Re: What's the temperture in your 'GARAGE' ?

I leave a small electric convection heater on during the night which keeps it about 42 F (+ -) and then crank up the portable propane heater which will bring it up to 58 F when I'm woring in there. It was 14 F this morning and we had 2-3 inches of snow last night.

My 60x40 (2400 sq ft) with 14' ceilings is 60 degrees. I have a natural gas forced air furnace. The gas bill has been around $60 per month, but will get higher as the temps get lower in Jan and Feb.

Re: What's the temperture in your 'GARAGE' ?

59* in there, cold as hell outside. 1220 square feet, 8+' ceilings, living space above. I keep it at 59* with a 75,000 btu Mr. Heater. Once I get the slab and the contents warmed up, it doesn't run too much. Maybe once every two hours for 5 minutes or so.

It is oh so nice in the mornings.......

65 outside today, 65 in the shop. Damm this is a bitter winter in South TX. Got a 60K Dearborn for when it really gets cold<50. when it gets below 40 we just give up and go set by the heater and drink whiskey till it warms back up.

Ambient, plus or minus. When it's cold out and I'm out there, I'll fire up the kero heater. Doesn't help that much, though -- no insulation (yet)!

Re: What's the temperture in your 'GARAGE' ?

Attached garage with 950 square feet, it was 47 this morning in the garage and 9 degrees outside when I went to work. It's been warm here though so the garage floor wasn't that cold yet probably. I think low 40's is typical for Jan/Feb in the garage until I fire up the 250,000btu forced air kerosene torpedo heater.
