Whats This Craftsman Vise Worth?

Just saw it for sale at $50, Looks pretty new so I assumed it was a China vise, but you never know until you ask.

Could it be a USA vise? Is it worth $50?

That looks like a current model that I have seen. However I don't see it on Sears.com right now. I expect that retail price it a little more than $50.

It's hard to tell the size from the picture but it looks like a nice calibrated milling vise. I would guess it was considerably more than $50 new. I get the feeling it's an older American made vise by the way the logo is inset, but that's just a guess.

I just looked on Amazon and it looks like a current model. If it's 6" it sells for $231 there.

If that is a current model, it looks like they are stepping up the quality a bit from the things that were offered in the recent past. I still will only buy the old USA made versions of those vises. Those were built with precision and built to last. At $50 though that doesn't seem to be a bad deal for a cross slide vise.
